In his first of eight symptoms, he states "Illusion of invulnerability –Creates excessive optimism that encourages taking extreme risks."

What creates this optimism ??

  1. The illusion of invulnerability.  If you believe that nothing bad can happen to you, an unrealistic optimism is created.  This can occur on an individual or group basis.  It is characterstic of an adolescent way of thinking.
