Is .08 BAC to low to be considered under the influence?

I think states should raise the DUI BAC to .12, .08 is way to low. As Patrick Henry said, "give me liberty or give me death".

Nope.  0.08 has been medically and scientifically proved to be enough to equal impairment.  Sorry, but your opinions don't beat that.

It was lowered to .08 for a reason.  The reason is if you have a BAC of .08 you are drunk and should not be driving.  It is not you we are worried about, it is the people your drunkenness might kill or maim.

0.08 is a level where you might think you can drive, but you really can't drive well.

Didn't you watch the video in drivers' ed? They took people who think they are heavyweights and can drive just fine at 0.08. They drank enough alcohol, and drove on a test course which they previously completed sober. When they were drunk, they were swerving, hitting animate objects, etc.

even at 0.05 you are still 4 times more likely to be involved in an accident. hence in QLD Australia this is the legal BAC.
