  1. 1 gigabyte= 1000 megabytes. Don't they teach kids the Roman pre-fixes anymore?

  2. It's half. sorry.

    1024mb is 1gb

    when using binary (which is most common i.e - 128, 256, 512, 1024) 1024 is the magic number when referring to bits and bytes.

    1024 bytes = 1kb (kilobyte)

    1024 KB = 1mb (megabyte)

    1024 MB = 1GB (gigabyte)

    1024 GB = 1TB (terabyte)

    when using decimal it is a round 1000.

  3. 1 gig = 1,024 MB

    sorry, but you lose.

  4. No, one gigabyte is not equal to 512 megs, it is a little more than half of a gig:

    1kb = 1000 bytes

    1mb = 100 k.bytes

    1gb = 1000 mb

    1tb = 100gb
