We are thinking of taking our daughter to Disneyland in celebration of our birthdays but is she too young? Have you taken your baby that young and what can this age group enjoy at the park? (My mom said she took me at 1yr.)

  1. I don't think I wouldnt take my one year old.  She would sleep through everything.  I want to take my kids when they can remember it.  The fact that your mom says she took you when your one maybe makes you think you should do it.  What did your mom say?

There wouldnt be any rides.  It would be hot, maybe noisy.  Unless I had other older children I don't see the point

  2. Wait until she is a little older so can she can enjoy more of the rides. I always wanted to do stuff like that with my oldest son when he was little and it never turned out like I thought it would. He would fall asleep at the zoo, park, etc. or just not be interested in any of it. I think the parents are the ones who enjoy it most.

  3. We took out son to Disneyland when he was 11 months. He loved it so much we went back this year right before he turned 2. When he was 11 months, though, he did skip his nap, didn't stick to his usual eating schedule, etc, but he was sooo good! He fell asleep on the "Small World" ride. Even if she doesn't remember, you can remember!! You should totally do it! By the way, there are quite a few rides she can go on, go to Disneyland.com and it should say the rides that infants can go on. Have fun, and don't forget "Baby's First Ears" in the gift shop!!

  4. There's probably not much that she would enjoy there - but she's still at the age where she would fall asleep and let you and your husband have a fun day.

A lot of parks have a switch-off policy, where you can wait in line, then you ride while the dad waits with the kid them you switch off.  So at least you would get to ride the rides. Not sure if Disneyland has this policy, but it'ssomething to look in to.

  5. We took our 1-yr-old and 3-yr-old to the zoo recently and spent the entire day. The baby was fine the entire time, much to my surprise. Just be sure you take a great, comfy stroller that can fully recline so your baby will be able to nap when she wants to. And lots of snacks and drinks.

  6. I don't think she is to young but be warned that she won't remember going, and there will be few if any "rides" for her to go on. I just went to a local theme park with my 2 boys (4 and 6) and their 16month old cousin. The 16 month old did have fun and was allowed on a few very kiddie rides but only because one or both of my boys was with him.

Also realize that she may tire more quickly than normal or be more fussy than normal due to her either being in a stroller or walking a lot. I think it can be  fun experience but i just wouldn't make a huge deal out of it seeing as how her only "memories" will be pictures.

  7. thats about the same age my parents took me and i was fine, and i see babies there all the time. i even went on the tilt o whirl when i was like 4 at someplace and now i love stuff like that lol (i wanted to, my mom didnt really wanna take me on, she doesnt even like rides like that, but i kept asking and the guy said its ok if she holds me)

  8. Yes, she is too young... she won't be able to enjoy and appreciate most of the things. At this age just going to the mall is exciting and new enough for them.
