I am waiting for an insurace settlment from allstate. I have 50000 max per person for bodily injury. I got a cut that required 5 staples on the back of my scull and was knocked out for a few minutes. I also suffered abraisions on my neck from the seatbelt. They offered 1500 originally and we asked them for 10000 plus medical bills payed. Is that a reasonable amount to ask for? Has anyone had anything similar happed to them?

  1. You don't provide enough information for an answer.  What happened?  Who was at fault?  Whose insurance are you dealing with?

  2. Staples instead of stitches.  No permanent injuries.  You're not identifying what your medical bills and lost wages were - but I'd guess maybe $1,000 and nothing.

In which case, $10,000 for no permanent injurie is ridiculous.
