  1. That's decided between you and the one doing the work. I know guys that work for beer and do a very good job, So don't hire the CEO of BP he won't do it for that much, But some guy down on his luck might. check the soup kitchens, they might know someone that would work for a few bucks.

  2. Fair?  It's downright generous!

I've helped friends move, and typically the charge is "you buy the pizza."

  3. More than fair. I would help you move for that.

  4. Sounds fair to me. I'd do it for $100.

  5. that is very fair.. i had a few different sets of people help us on different days.. and supplied drinks ( gatorade, pop and water) and food each night

  6. We've helped friends move, sometimes they spring for donuts and/or pizza.  $100.00 is very fair.

  7. what kind of furniture? solid oak bed, cabinets, dining table, etc...?? that is heavy for one floor. Do they have to drive and unload too? $100 is fair for one person, but he can't do it himself, right? Will you help? $100 is good for 3-4 hours of work even though it's back-breaking. If they work hard and not slack you should tip another $20.

  8. I guess- most services would charge more.

When my husband and I have moved and asked friends for help- we "pay" them by paying for lunch. But we rent our own uhaul and we also have everything ready to move AND we also carry the boxes and furniture with them.

  9. More than fair in this economy

  10. Is it a friend or family member?  Then I think its a little too much.  Make sure you show your gratitude and maybe take them out to eat at a nice restaurant, (stay away from McDonalds or Wendys), and then later on, buy them a small token to show your appreciation such as a case of their favorite beer.

But yeah, I'll help you move for $100!

  11. I think that is too much. Do you have friends you can buy beer and pizza for ...that always works :)

  12. i would only do it for $1,000,000.
