Question:

Is 116 lbs. a good weight for being diabetic?

I did weigh 125 but at my last dr visit I weighed 116. I eat alot too and still don't gain weight.

  1. Yeah it's fine.  I'm diabetic too.  I weigh a little less than that.


  2. You didn't say how tall you are.  If you are under 4'8'' you weigh a lot, but if you at least 5' tall you are okay..

  3.     116 pounds is ok- but the weight is irrelevant compared to controlling blood glucose levels.  I've seen several diabetics who are normal weight and have huge problems.   Even if you are a normal weight, you can still develop kidney, heart, vascular problems, etc....  I would be careful eating "alot" , especially if you are a type 1.  This can cause diabetic ketoacidosis.    You would lose weight, but would become deathly ill and require hospitalization.
