Is 12.99% horrible interest rate for a credit card?

That is my interest rate for $500 of my credit card balance, with like 22.5% for $250 of my balance.

Is this awful? Way above average?

Its a college credit card.

It's not great.  But it's definitely better than the 22.5% you're paying for the other portion of your balance.  If I were you, I would ask the bank if they can lower your interest rate.  Try to get it under 8% if you can.  If they won't do it the first time you ask, try again in a month.

12.99% is fair, but not great.

Now, why did you want to get that credit card again?

Anything under 10 is good.

its not a bad interest rate but you could do better.
