Is 12 to young to be wearing makeup?

My daughter is going back to school and has been buying mascara and eyeliner (etc.) She is 12, is she to young to wear makeup?

Whats an appropriate age to start?

i dont think 12 is too young, thats about when i started wearing makeup...just have her start out wearing it light and only wear a few things at a time

I think 12 is fine! It's a good age to start wearing makeup actually. I think it's good to experiment with makeup while still in middle school. I mean, once u get 2 high school,you should be good at it by then.

Im 12, almost 13, and I wear twice that.

I think it is a fine age to start. Just Make sure she doesn't give people... The wrong idea. Eyeliner is fine makeup  is fine to wear just make sure she doesn't flip if she forgets to put it on

i think 12 is old enough. thats when i started. just maybe tell her to keep it simple, dont over-do the eyeliner, or maybe stick with browns and work her way up to blacks and colors.

i would say its a good age, its just too bad some girls dont realise how cover up makes your skin look alot older ( i wish i would of known when i was younger.. now i feel like i cant go out without it...)

   Just explain to her that mascara and eye liner is fine ( not the best) and just tell her that she has beautiful skin and she can choose to use it or not but it would be better not too.

i think 12 is a really goods age, but i think she should only wear mascara, lip gloss, eye shadow, and cover up. eye liner and bronzer aren't needed until she is older. You should buy her a make up book for teens so she can do her makeup really pretty without putting on too much. and she shouldn't be like one of those people who can't leave the house without makeup.

It's fine in moderation.  She still has naturally beautiful skin so ruining it by caking it on too much makeup would be a shame.

I think that 12 is fine. I started wearing makeup at the end of sixth grade going into seventh grade. I am a freshmen in high school now. So she is probably at a good age to start. Though when starting I would say that all she needs is blush or bronzer and some mascara. The eyeliner is ok, but try buying it in a dark brown instead of black so it doesn't look quite so dramatic on her.

Hi. Im also twelve so i'll tell ya.

I am only aloud wearing mascara,eyeliner and also lip gloss.  So yes its appropriate, but tell her not to wear too much!!!

Well maybe a little  you need to consider a few things such as: Is she a very mature girl, is she a good student, What is the reason she wants to wear it, if to attract boys then no, but if she just wants to fit in with her friends maybe would let her but only just a little amount to start with.

mascara and a little blush would be fine, just enough makeup to let her think that she is getting older. but eyeliner is a little much. most girls at 15 and 16 dont even know how to put eyeliner on let alone a 12 year old.  at 14 she can probably start wearing a thin line on the top eyelid, no eyeliner on the bottom.

ummm.. i say yes she can BUT! don't over do it like  iam 13 and  some times  i will  wear a little  lipgloss and  a very little eye liner  thats  all  but  dont let her wear  faundation  and  eye shadow  well ok maby a little eye shadow   but yes  i think it would be ok

and i just think that make up is not so necessary for school. because make up product can affect ur skinface when you get older. mm. just my opinion ! but yea, mascara and eyeliner is okay. but dont wear da foundation, ..etc like that :)

I think you should teach your daughter to love herself as she is. I also think 12 is way too young to wear makeup. 2 years ago she was 10! She is far too young. Walking down the street you don't want people to get the wrong message about her. You dont' want people at school to get the wrong message about her either. If she wears makeup she will become dependent on it to look good. People always love natural girls!

I started wearing eye makeup at 13. You really don't need makeup until you're in your actual teen years. Mascara's a bad idea. Once I started wearing mascara, my regular eyelashes lost it's beauty.

but eyeliner's fine. Make sure you buy eye makeup remover. it's a lot better than just water and a face cloth.

I am a teen, and started wearing make up when I was 13 or 14. Eyeliner may be a bit much for a 12 year old, but some light eyeshadow and mascara may be okay, with lip gloss. I think if they know that less is more, and they don't look weird, it's okay. You don't want 12 year olds looking like 16 year olds, but they do want to grow up.

12 is a little young lipgloss won't hurt just don't wear like giant hoop earrings or thick ruby lipstick yeat with crazy eye shadow wait for that until you're atleast 14, but lipgloss, powder, light eye shadow won't hurt at all.... Foundation would probably be the only thing she should wait for until shes older.
