Is 12 too young to be shopping at certain stores?

I'm not talking about Victoria's Secret or anything, but... My 12 year old daughter really likes the clothes at some stores, but she feels awkward buying them, and says girls her age normally shop at Limited Too or something (we have none). She likes the clothes at places like Pac Sun, Aeropostale, American Eagle, etc.. She only buys age appropriate tops mostly.

That's totally fine! Those stores are meant for preteens and up. I am 12 and I shop at those stores! I think she is the perfect age... : )

As long as the clothes are age appropriate, she should be fine. I don't suggest getting really expensive brands for her, because she will probably grow still.

They're just brands of clothing, it's all the same.  Don't worry about it.  By the way, I don't know a single 12 year old that shops at Limited Too.

you have nothing to worry about.

if your daughter is more ahead of others her age in style good for her.

and if you are supervising what she is buying and are ok with it then why worry?

No, I dont think so!

When I was 12, I despised Limited Too or any of those stores, I went to Pac Sun and other stores that had clothes aimed at older people.

Just make sure when she's shopping there, she's confident and not trying to sneak things to the cash register without people seeing, or something of that nature. :]

Also, if you have no Limited Too or stores like that, and want to give it a try, I think you can go online and order. I'm not sure if they deliver to certain places only, but you can try!

Nope, I think that's fine. I liked wearing AE and Aeropostale when I was was around 12 (and i still like them). It's fine. :]

Yeah, its fine... I mean, totally normal. The other day i saw a 9 year old wearing ambercrombie and fitch!

If it doesnt say anthing bad on it it should be fine.

As long as she isn't buying clothes that show off what she has(or what she doesn't) I would say its not that big of a deal where she shops. Keep the upper body covered,and make sure the butt cheeks remain IN the shorts or pants...also I wouldn't be too thrilled about thongs if I found any in my 12 yr old daughters laundry(not saying your daughter has them but that is one thing I wouldn't not allow at 12)

I think that's fine. I've seen 11 and 12 year olds wearing shorts from Hollister and Abercrombie and their shorts are shorter than h**l! I don't think there's anything wrong with her shopping at Aero and American Eagle and those places as long as she's covering herself and not wearing skimpy short stuff.
