Depends on what you want to do while your there.  Shows and shopping -- no.  Sitting in Central Park you'll be okay.

Yes, if you are not a big shopper.  I just went there two days ago for 6 days  and spent about 350 just on shopping but thats not including food.

nope.  up it like a thousand more dollars and a half a grand more.  new york is expensive, esp. if the person you are bringing likes to shop.

well that depends if you are a big spender or not if not that should be fine however f you plan to hit the town more money maybe needed . lol but only spend what you can afford.

I all-ways figure $100.00 per day per person is a good formula.

It will be enough, New York has many places where you can eat great food for only few dollars. There are also a lot of choices for not-too-expensive entertainment. If you would do your research in advance, you will be fine with just under $100 a day.
