  1. I'd say yes.  That averages out to 10 inches per month, which means an inch of rain every three days.  An inch of rain is a very significant amount, and usually means that it poured for at least several hours during the day.  Here in Baltimore, that doesn't happen twice a week like it would have to in order to maintain that level of rainfall.  In fact, 121 inches is nearly three times Baltimore's annual rainfall of 44 inches, and Baltimore is hardly a desert.

  2. sure is, check out this site, pick a city it will give you their averge rainfall among other weather info.

  3. Not really.  There are places that receive a lot more.  The highest peaks of the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, for example, receive an average of over 250 inches per year.  Mt. Waialeale in Hawaii receives 486 inches of rain per year.  If the rain is clean and not acidic, then it's just water, and it's no problem to be out in the rain.  It can even be very enjoyable.  So no, it's not a lot of rain, unless it's acid rain, when you may want to watch how much of a dose you get.

Also, 121 inches of rain probably also means it's cloudy, and thus pretty pleasant, most of the time!
