ok so i have a credit card with CreditOne bank it was my first card and at the time i didnt know much about credit. Now that i know more i realized that my card is really bad. Besides the 23.99APR everytime i make a payment they charge me 7.95. I have been current every month and never missed a payment for 9 months now. the only time i use it is for gas than at the end of the month i have 75% of my balance. I want to close it off at 12months but i was wondering if that was the best thing to do because i heard that will lower my score or should i leave it open and not use it at all.

  1. Open a new account before you close this one just in case if you need to have a credit card.

Or you can call them and let them that you want to close your account becasue of all the junk fees and the high interest rate.  Trust me they will meet you half way.

  2. Sometimes you have to pay to build good credit history. You should now check your credit reports and credit score from Equifax, Experian and Trans Union and see if they are correct. Then apply for a credit card from your bank or credit union. Once you recieve the new credit card stop using the CreditOne card and don't cancel it.

  3. Leave it open and don't use it but every once and a blue moon, and when you do pay it off.  Find another credit card with a lower APR, or better yet find one that will assume your other credit card debt (credit card transfer)
