I am 13 years old and I still haven't been in any little leagues. I am still ok and I play second base (easiest for me). I can hit pretty well for contact and some power. Is there any chance I can make to the MLB? And do you have any tips on exercises to do or training tips???

  1. too bad you're an infielder, in MLB if you are a Lefty Pitcher, the only requirement is that you have a pulse( if you're a lefty pitcher and you;re alive you're in!) ;-D

  2. 13 is not too old.  However you need to get on a team to learn organized baseball.  If you are going to want to play second base you need good range and soft hands.  In the site I provided their is alot of good drills to help you with your fielding range and your soft hands.  Also has alot of hitting drills.  The site should help you alot.  Also follow your dreams and don't give up.  As long as you believe in yourself no one can stop you.

  3. Making the MLB is one of the hardest things to do, but no i don't think you are too old. You have to work hard at it. Play high school ball and do well then if you don't get a scolarship try out for a college team. If you make it keep playing. If you are good enough you'll make it. My good friend Aaron Bates didn't play ball until his freshman year in highschool and now he's playing for the Portland Sea Dogs which is a double a team of the Boston Red Sox. So never give up hope, and just try your best.

  4. Unless you are a enormous talent and not yet been discovered, then you are probably too late.

However, you never know what will happen. If you are determined, try to play as much as you can and practice. Find out about what is your strength and then focus on it. You said you can hit for contact, maybe you can try improve your speed and try to be a lead off or practice bunt to get infield singles. (since you said you can hit for contact so you probably see the pitches pretty well). Just a suggestion. Try hard to practice and discuss with your friends and coach if you are in the team. (Try to join a team, expereiences is different from practicing alone).

  5. that's not true at all. I can name several major leaguers who didn't even pick up a bat until high school. You'd have to make it your life. I'm talking playing baseball would have to be your life. No girlies. But, just go have fun bro, chances of anyone making the majors are very small. I think the number is like 1% of the total population. That's how many psycho's there are too.

  6. It's not too late.  There are some MLB players who started late but very few and far between.  Work hard in the offseason.  Swing the bat 100 times a day in front of a mirror to get a good level swing.  Exercise also.  do light weight training which means light weight with many reps.  This will tone your body as opposed to getting huge where you can't move.  Do a lot of pushups too.  Those strengthen your back, arms shoulders and stomach.  Try to hit an indoor batting cage in the winter also if there is one close to you.  Just don't give up.  Jog as well.  This will build endurance and strength.  It will help your range at 2nd base plus speedier on the base paths.  It helps if you can steel bases in Babe Ruth League and High School when you get there.

  7. I think your too late.

  8. Chris Coste was 33 and he wasn't to late

  9. too late

  10. no

  11. You need to play on a regular team.  At 13 I assume you are about 7th or 8th grade.  If your middle school has a tam try out for it.  As soon as you are old enough for the high school team try put for it.  But you need to play in some sort of organized league during the summer.  And don't limit your playing time to game and practice days.. Go out and play or at least practice everyday during the spring and summer.

  12. nothing is impossible.  you can definitely do it.  but do start throwing some pitches.  the competition is so high that you need to get busy!!! but remember, you need to make sure that you don't hurt your arm.  the most important thing for you is to maintain your arm so that you can pitch in later years.

  13. Ever see the movie invincible? If you were born good at baseball you can make it, or if you take time out of the day to practice everyday.

  14. sure its possible but it takes a lot of work

  15. No chance.  To late.  You have to be playing regularly.
