I am 13 and I really want to start tap jazz and ballet classes but I am scared that I am to old and will just get lost. I started hip-hop last year when I was 12 and it came to me instantly but I am scared that when classes start I will look like a fool.

  1. I was 13 when I started taking dance classes. I've been dancing a year now and as long as you are committed you will be fine. See if your dance studio has any teen/adult classes so you aren't dancing with younger kids.

  2. You are never to old to start dancing!

  3. nope not at all i started when i was 14 and im just as good as my friend who has done it since she was 10 x

    have fun dancing!

  4. it is definitely not to late. if this is something you want to do, you should go for it. it sounds like you can pick dance up pretty easily, so you should be fine.

  5. NO 13 IS NOT TO OLD TO START DANCING SO JUST GO FOR IT AND HAVE FUN!!!!

  6. Any age is great to start! If you are nervous about difficulty level, ask your dance teacher if you can be placed in a lower level class. If however, you are afraid of being in a class with 7 year olds, you may want to ask your dance teacher if you can check up to your age level with some private lessons.

Welcome to the amazing world of dance! =]

  7. i dont think your too old, if thats what you want to do then go for it, who cares what anyone else thinks!! i would definitly go for it!

  8. Sweetheart, Rudolph Nureyev, Martha Graham, Misty Copeland, Sabra Johnson, David Zurak, Marquis Cunningham, and Thayne Jasperson all started dancing in their mid and late teens, Thayne started dancing at 21 and he made the top 20 on So You Think You Can Dance.
