Is 13 too old to begin competitive swimming?

Question

I started swimming since I was about 7 years old, but now I'm thinking about joining my high school swim team in the future. I want to join a local swim club...but do you think I'm too old to start swimming now?

(A lot of people I know started swimming since they were like 7 or 8 so that's why I'm having second thoughts...and I've had no experience in competitive swimming)

Kurt Grote who won the  the 200 breaststroke at the 1998 world championships started swimming when he was 15
