Is 13 too young to wear makeup? (10 pts!)

Question

I'm 13, and am going into 7th grade(I could be going into 8th...long story I didn't get held back or anything I get straight A's). None of the friends in my group wear makeup yet...even though it's the popular group. Other girls do, and my friends sometime make fun of them. I've started wearing it this summer, and look good in it but don't know if I have the courage to wear it to school. What do I do if my friends tease me? I mean, I make fun of myself all the time, but what could I say bout that? I don't wear too much. What do you think? Thanks in advance ten points best answer!

no, most definatly not. just dont wear it everyday. once you get into 8th grade like me its ok to wear it everyday. just dont wear a lot.

Well if they tease you then there not your real  friends. Its ok to tease yourself, it means you do look great but you just don't know it. If you do wear make up in school I wouldn't make it too dark, make it look a little natural. I mean you can wear mascara, blush, eye shadow, and lipstick but not to dark. Schools have a rule against that.

um. if you're in the popular group, you should look good without makeup. don't wear makeup at the age of 13. in the near future, you'd look terrible without it. but if they were really your friends, they wouldn't tease you.

I think its fine as long as its not too much. I started wearing makeup in the 8th but other girls in my grade were def wearing it before then. So, I think wear it if you want, since you said you don't wear so much anyway. Good luck!

and if you're worried about what your friends will think, start off with very little and then build up. they'll get used to the fact that you wear makeup and might even start themselves!

wear it lightly, so you cant really notice it.

like, wear mascara and lip gloss, but nothing else.

if people make fun of you, just know that if you like the way you look, its not up to anyone else.

if you decide to wear makeup, be proud. don't point it out, mention it, or regret it.  all you need is a little eyeliner and lipgloss to look fresh and clean for school. if your friends notice it and ask, don't deny it. say yes and talk about something else if you don't feel comfortable. i'm sure some of your friends have started makeup as well! i hope this helps! :)

Go for it! I started wearing makeup when i was 13. Just wear the basic eye shadow, eyeliner on top and mascarra.

oy vey. do what you want. as long as you dont have layers of foundation on, bright red lips, purple eyeshadow, and a mountain of blush.

Just tell them to back off, their your friends they shouldnt care what you wear. Plus their going 2 end up wearing makeup one day.  Im 13 tooand was in the same situation.

As long as it's not alot of makeup go for it!

If your friends tease you just ignore them because they are just probably jealous that they arent wearing any.

I would just start with a little eyeliner, mascara and face if you need it, to look natural.

But yeah you should give it a try to wear it to schoool :)

well its up to you. I don't think its too young because thats the age I started wearing makeup. (I am 14 now) And middle school there are gonna be tons of girls wearing make up so nobody is gonna think you are too young. Besides who cares what other people think. Don't worry about your friends teasing you. I hadnt ever wore makeup until I was 13 and nobody said anything to me. In fact I look better with make up. Just remember not to put it on too thick. I made that mistake sometimes and I looked stupid. Middle school is a huge transition from elementary so don't feel like people will be surprised at wearing makeup. Trust me I was exactly where you are when I was starting 7th grade. But I wore it through 7th and 8th and I just got used to it. And if you want to get used to wearing makeup then you should start now. You are gonna go through a lot of things in middle school so don't let makeup slow you down. Good luck!

I was wearing makeup when I was 13, but just a little bit, like mascara and lip gloss.  I think if you stick with that, you'll be fine.  Mascara and lip gloss enhance your natural features without looking too heavy or like you're trying too hard.

I AM ALMOST THIRTEEN. I ONLY WEAR A LITTLE BIT OF MAKEUP... I DONT WEAR BRIGHTLY COLORED EYESHADOW (EEWW... YOU ARENT SUPPOSED TO WEAR THAT ANYWAYS) BECAUSE IT LOOKS TACKY. i was like 12 when i started wearing makeup. my friends were 13 and 14. the teased me, but i didnt care because i knew that i would get a headstart on application. and in a year when they started wearing it too i looked awesome and they had to have me help them do their makeup in the bathroom before class. lol. if you like it who cares what your friends think.

I'm thirteen as well. I usually wear some nice clear lip gloss or a bit of blush.Do you feel like you wear too much makeup?

If you feel like you want to wear it, make sure you only put on enough that brings out your features but keeps you looking natural.

I must admit that when makeup is caked on it looks kind of trashy, especially when a thirteen year old is doing it.

If it's what you want to wear don't listen to your friends.

if it looks good on you go for it.

you never know if some of your friends have started wearing some.

and if you feel akward being the only one in your clique wearing it, start doing make-overs and get them to wear it too!
