  1. yes its been driven almost 20,000 miles a year

  2. YES

  3. yes though not if it was a commercial vehicle where they went everwhere

  4. Yes. You should not consider purchasing this car unless it is a Toyota, Honda, or Nissan. And it sould be at a reasonable price because of the high mileage. Go to:

to get the retail value if you are the buyer.

  5. Yes, its a lot. To buy a good mileage car to get a least 12,000 miles a years. If you buy it, but dont whats kind of car you getting but someday you will pay for engine or tranny.

  6. You should check to see if the person selling it is the only owner.  if so chances are that the person is probably older and does a bit of travelling so their more than likely highway miles.

  7. yes

    max is 15,000 a year or 105,000 for a 01

anything over 12 to 15k is excessive.

  8. It depends on how well the driver took care of the car. Alot of people will go buy the brand of car which isn't the best way to determine how long a car will last and hold up after time. While there is some truth that certain cars will generally last longer then others it shouldn't be only factor in the car's durability.

To give you an example my 01' Hyundai Elantra has 135,000 miles on it and runs fine. My friends 01' Honda Civic trans died at 160,000. He thought sure his Civic would last longer then my Hyundai but he drove the car hard and well, the car couldn't handle it after a while even with it being a Honda. I keep up with the routine maintenance on my Hyundai and drive moderately, pretty sure I'll make it to 200k. Put the two cars side by side and you will see people automatically pick the Civic as the better car not knowing anything about it.

Looking at a car's mileage gives you a general idea about a car but you have to know the car's history and give the car a good check up to get a better idea of how long a car will last.

138k could be alot for some cars and not alot on others.

  9. Since 15K miles per year is considered average, a 7 year old car would have 105K. Since the 2009s are about to come out, call it an 8 year old, which means it would have 120K miles to be "average." So, 138K is a little high, but not totally out of line.

When a car gets this many miles, the actual condition of the car is more important than the mileage. Some cars with this many miles are ready for the junkyard. Others can be in great condition. Only a good checkover by a mechanic can tell the difference.
