  1. well personally it's your decicion not ours,

it will effect your life and if you believe you can handle it then go for it, but be wary.

  2. i wouldnt trust you...nothing to do with age, just the basic ability to spell

  3. why not ?

  4. I started babysitting around that age, but you should take a First Aid class before taking care of any child.  It will help you get the job and if the child is in any danger or gets hurt you'll know what to do.

I've attached a website that talks about the average price for a babysitting job. It has a lot of useful information.  Good Luck

  5. I think that is a bit to young. You are still kids yourself, you are not even at the age of 16 when you can break away from you parents and go into doctor's appointments by yourself. At least that is correct in Australia. I think you should come back to this idea when you are 16, people will be a lot more interested then and willing to pay you more of an hourly rate. So yeah, it isn't quite the right time yet.

  6. Not even taking into account the awesome responsibility of taking care of another person at your age, please do think about your own safety too.  How are you going to get home; are you going to be alone or always together; how late are you going to babysit; are you going to be sitting on school nights etc?

These are not prohibitive questions by any means, I think it's great you are thinking about enterprise at your age!

I think if your parents are happy for you to do it, then start with family and close friends and build up from there.  I think if you start babysitting for close family friends and get some experience and references you'd be easier to trust.

The price seems about right, but make sure you agree the price and finish time at the time you are booked, and it's better to have something than nothing! Maybe start a little lower whilst you build up your clientele?

    Enjoy!

  7. sure

  8. well i dont think its too young to start babysitting a 6 month old

i started baby sitting my sister when she was about 10 months (i was 9 i think)

  9. No. but don't have boyfriends and friends over when you babysit and don't eat the food the people leave..just take a little..not gulp down huge quantities of their staples and don't use the phone too much or watch TV that the kids should not see and don't steal from the owners and you should be OK..but don't do too much housework unless the

people pay you and watch out for traveling salesmen./

  10. hard to say id trust u since i dont no u

  11. i would trust you,  but i wouldn't trust the male adult of the house with you

what if he comes home to check on you   then rape you ?

  12. cmon that is like the best age to do it if they can see that you are a young and commited kid they will hire you lol make sure u get regulars.

  13. It would be better if the kids already know you.

  14. You have to be 14 to legally be allowed to babysit in the UK, I don't know about the US, but it should be fine.

$5 an hour? That's probably about right.

  15. i think it depends on the person i personally dont think that someone who dosent know you would be that fast to drop their child off with you but you can try with people you both know... or one of you should take infant and toddler cpr and take classes on how to be a good baby sitter then you guys will be trusted by strangers

  16. $5 an hour to babysit? depends where you live and the average income.

Remember fast food works, most retail workers (except those on commission like for wireless carriers) make $8-$10 an hour, so there is no way they could afford that.

If you are living in an area where the average income is 3 or 4x the amount you are asking, then perhaps you could get a job at night making that much money. With no experience, you're better off to take a CPR class and perhaps a babysitting class first before you look for jobs. I don't think it's so much your age but how well you do the job. I had some girls who would do nothing but eat my food and have friends over the minute I left. There were a few, one in particular, that did a fantastic job. They watched the kids, played with them, helped them with their meals and all and all did a fantastic job. If I needed a babysitter today, I'd pay them at least $5 an hour if not more. Why? Because I could trust them and they did a fantastic job with the people I cherished. Remember to you their "kids" but to their parents they represent much more then that. So treat them as if they were your own, respect them, play with them and listen to their parents, you may find yourself as a high paid babysitter well regarded by the parents in your area. Parents talk and recommend, get on the recommendation list by doing a great job and then $5 an hour would not be too much nor would your age be a factor.

Regardless, teens your age and younger already have kids or are pregnant so I guess you're not "too young" to watch kids. It all depends on who you ask. Also you may be a mature 14 year old and act better then a lot of 18 year olds I've seen. :)
