  1. Not at all. My brother is a freshman in high school and he just started this fall for the first time ever. AND he made the varsity team. Proof that you can be great at something with little to no training.

GOOD LUCK! and power to you for trying something new!

  2. It is never too late to start tennis but to better player like federer maybe that would be impossible. Too many things to learn too little time.

  3. That depends on your talent, dedication and your goals.

14 puts you 10 years behind the best players in the world.

So what, if you are willing to take lessons, practice and play tournaments you will have lots of fun.

At 14 it is reasonable, if you have some talent, to look forward to being a starting varsity player.  But, that will depend as much on the high school you attend as your talent and dedication.  Tennis, like any other sport, is driven by results.

My recommendation is give it a go.  Enjoy learning the game, a game for a lifetime, and don't worry about the other nonsense.  If you enjoy yourself you will be happy with your decision.

  4. You are never too old. I started at 33

  5. no

  6. I didn't start playing until my freshman year in high school. (I've played varsity for 2 years and our team has gone to state) your never too old for tennis!!!

  7. not at all
