Im 15 and 5'7. I go to the gym almost everyday but I cant run because of knee problems. My thighs have become larger and I'd love to drop off the extra pounds. Any suggestions?

  1. It is good to hear that you've invested time to stay healthy. Good & Keep It Up!

For your height, your ideal weight is between 106lbs and 158lbs. You're well within the healthy range.

You may want to try other cardio (cycling) or some light weight training to improve strength and to reduce stress on your knees.

  2. elliptical's are generally less hard on the knees.  Cut some calories, increase the movement and don't go overboard.  Depending on your build probably around 130-135 would be better for you and easier on the knees.

  3. You're not over-weight - you're actually within a healthy weight group.  I would talk to your doctor about strength/weight training exercises that you can to to help build muscle and lose fat around your thighs.

  4. You are not fat.  You are a normal weight.  Check it out for yourself here http://www.weight-loss-surgery-or-weight...

You can try some toning exercises to tone up your thighs, like leg lifts and things like that.  Walking uphill, if you can't run, is also good for tonging your thighs.

    Hope this helps.

  5. m 5'7 and id luv to be 148 lbs

  6. you're not overweight, but if you keep gaining weight you could become overweight. to lose weight, you can still do many activities, such as yoga, sittups, etc to help lose weight if you want to, without straining your knees. seventeen magazine always has useful tips for excercize, and most of them dont invlove straining your knees.

  7. Make your meals smaller and don't snack? Eat foods that are filling but don't have many calories. There's this japanese noodles called soba noodles that I LOVE, and they're only around 300 calories total and are very filling. You should try them out.

    Good luck!!

  8. can you ride an excercise bike?
