I'm looking for a new car and I really like the new 2008 Hyundai Elantra SE. I went to the dealer last night and we discussed pricing. The car started at about $16,900 and we got him down to $15,580. Do you think that's a fair price or do you think it's possible I can get it cheaper.

Keep in mind that this was SE, but with no sunroof and cloth seats (not leather).

  1. Yes, with freight the SE manual transmission model starts at $17245, there is a $1500 rebate on this model, so it sounds like you've only bargined down $165 off the MSRP.  I think you can get the price lower, however if that is the automatic transmission then you've definitely got a good deal, that is worth $1000 more.   http://www.hyundaiusa.com/index.aspx

  2. If you got any discount it is a good deal these cars are very hard to find. There are a lot of dealers that dont have them in stock.

  3. That is very good.

Smaller cars are getting more expensive. And the Hyundai Elantra SE comes with lots of standard features and comfort.

    That is a great price.

Usually, the regular Elantra with no extra options costs around $15,500.

You get a spoiler and an automatic transmission, which costs more, for the same price as a manual, no spoiler Elantra.

  4. I'm assuming the 16,9 is after 2,000 rebate. If so, that is a prettty good price. I think you could get it for a little cheaper. I got mine for 14,441, but my dad was already a hyundai customer, so I got a little bit of a discount. Plus it was during the slump.
