  1. No, you are not too old. I felt the same way and i am 16 and i know people who have danced their whole lives too. Hip-hop and lyrical are what i am about to begin too, good choices. Just work extra hard and make it your top priority, and you will be just fine. Oh and Sabra i think the last winner on sytycd only danced for 4 years. =)

  2. i'd have to say...better late than never!

  3. im 13 and i just started dance for the 1st time  2day except for when i was 4. i would go for it! i was just talking 2 a freshaman and shes been doing lyrical 4 a year and loves it. My first class was pretty awkward, but i wnaa be slime and lithe. only time will tell [=

  4. go for it your not to old at all

sabra from so you think you can dance (the winner)

just started taking when she was 15 so i would go for it :)

  5. Of course not, i kno adults who just started dance classes with me and i'm 13 ( cause i take adult beginner classes ). Just make sure ur not with lil kids and anywayz u got some expreience and as long as u got rhythm u good!

  6. well you're never too old but make sure you go to a studio where you won't be placed in a class with a bunch of little kids...make sure you get with other beginners your age.  you may not be able to dance professionally like that ever unless you have like a ton of natural talent.  dance is fun tho- stick with it cus most ppl who start later like you quit fast- its soo much fun i live for it. you'll become really close to the students in your class and with your dance teacher(s) and youll have a ton of memories.  one time at a recital i was waiting backstage before i did my pointe dance and i was watching one of the best dances in the show and i actually started to cry b.c i couldnt wait to be that good and i was just so glad i was a dancer- but then it was a mess b.c i had to wipe my tears w.o messing up my makeup

    haha sorryyyy- longggg story.

anyway yeah you should do it for those reasons.

btw- you may not be able to start lyrical yet since you havent had much backgroud- i would do the usual tap, jazz, and ballet and then gradually get to lyrical + other types of dance

  7. It's NEVER too late to start. Granted, you'll be at a huge disadvantage against people who've been doing it since they were toddlers, and odds are you'll never be as good as some of them, but there are plenty of dance jobs out there for the truly talented and well-taught.
