I'm soon to turn 15 and really want to join an acting group. But I've never had any previous acting experience and am worried that if I do join a group that I will look completely out of my depth.

If you're going to suggest taking part in school productions, then you'd be wasting your time as my school doesn't do any drama :( . Please Help...

  1. u should do it, no matter how old u r, acting is a great thing to do for all ages. Even if you dont know how to do it, you will learn and it will soon become easy. Do it, you will be glad you did.

  2. I think you should definitly go for it! I'm 15 now, and have been acting for about 5 years, but its definitly not to late to start!

Some of the groups I'm in or what not, there are 17 year olds ocming in and they have never acted a day in their life.

Acting is truely somthing I enjoy, and I think you should check it out. It really is fun (:

  3. This is how you learn. Go for it, you won't be sorry. You will be surprised how many people will be starting with you. What's the worst that can happen? You learn a lot about the acting field and  this can only do you good. Go 'Break a Leg'!

  4. No I think 15 is a perfect age to begin drama

It will give you much more confidence in yourself and probably make you feel much better

    Sooo Go for it

    Lots of Luck

  5. I teach all my troupe's classes.  In my beginner classes, I get ages ranging from 16-50+ (only because we won't take in anyone under 16).  So are you too old at 15 to start learning theater?  If you're just looking to get into it and not become a Disney Star by next year, no, you're definitely not too old.

Most of the auditions in my troupe are from people who have taken my classes in the past.  If you are really concerned, perhaps find out if the acting group you're interested in offers classes.

Another avenue you might be able to take is starting up a student acting/drama/improv club at your school.  I would bet that there's at least one teacher there that wishes there was a drama program who could help train the members in the club.

  6. 15 is a great age to start an acting career. Be in a local theater and do plays then take professional classes.

  7. I don't think you're ever too old to express yourself. You could also ask your principal, student government, etc. to incorporate some form of drama in your school.

  8. No way, it can never be too late and you can never be too old to be doing such a thing.

  9. Acting is for all ages! In fact, there are a few directors out there who like "green" actors because they often take direction better. If you are worried, though, you can always look into acting lessons before taking any auditions. But really, dive in because every actor remembers his first show and many would be thrilled to help you!

  10. go for it!

    confidence is the key!

be willing to learn, and in drama it is okay if everyone goes at their own pace!

  11. no it is aperfect time and it increses ur creativenes
