Is 1540 a good SAT score?

it's not the best... on the first try i got 2110 and on the second i got 2200 and im taking it again one more time.. how many times have you taken it? i suggest going over some stuff, patching up your weaknesses, and trying again. good luck!

it is average, you might want to think about retaking it though.

A lot of people ask this question but its actually quite difficult to answer. A "good" SAT score could mean something that reaches the goal you set; it could mean an above average score for a college youre looking at. What may be a good score for me may not be for you and vice versa.

Anyhow, the mean SAT Reasoning test scores are as follows:

Math: 515

Critical Reading: 502

Writing: 494

Total: 1511

Of course depends on where you want to go to college. Log yourself onto collegeboard.com and check out the middle range SAT scores at the schools you want to go to.

If you fit snugly within the middle range, consider it a "good score," if not, retake it or go for the ACTs.

Another factor is whether the people around you consider it acceptable. If your parents threaten to kick you out of the house...I wouldn't consider that a good sign. If your equally ambitious friends give you a pat on the back, smile and relax.
