i found out he is 20 and im only 16

he doesnt seem to care about the age difference but i dont know

i dont drink and he does and ... yeah

well at 16 your probably a junior in high school and he would be a sophomore in college. If you look at it that way it doesn't sound too awful. Boys at the age of 20 are about as mature as a girl the age of 16 (sorry but true). The fact that s*x is on his mind is a given, the question is are you mature enough to handle a situation if one should arise. If the answer is yes then i think that it would be ok.

my niece started dating a guy when she was a freshman and he was a senior a 4 yr gap and she is now 18 and they are still together. it all depends on the guy.

and by the way the legal age in MOST states is 16 so your more than likely are not a minor.

I think it's too old. Technically, it's not illegal unless s*x is involved but there's too much space for something bad to happen. Plus, he should care about the age difference...it's a biggie.

I have rule when it comes to guys (I'm 16 too,almost 17) that my mom and other elder family members were over joyed when they heard, it's no dating guys 3 years older than me. And I'm unbelievably strict with it, no exceptions can be made. It's just that so much can happen in this day and age...younger girls feel more pressure from older guys (i.e. drinking, smoking, s*x...goes on and on) and i'm just too young for all of these things so i'm not giving anyone the chance to try and pressure me.

It depends. If your mature like he is then maybe. If your parents accept it then it's better. Had the same age difference, didn't tell parents and when my mom found out she went and got a restraining order...hope i helped...

Maturity wise, likes and dislikes are very different between a 16 yo and 20 yo.  Plus, I would be very suspicious about why a 20yo REALLY wants with a 16yo.

To tell you the truth it's not that bad. A 4 year difference, as someone here has already said, your both mature (about the same amount). You might up ending being together for years, or even for eternity. It all depends on the guy!! (as someone here has said :D) But really, I think it's legal, if you like/love him and he likes/love's you and it's okay for you 2 to be "boyfriend and girlfriend" and you 2 see no problem with, then go ahead, knock yourself out. Cause the way I see it it's okay. :)

However there are more people who say you shouldn't, so maybe you should follow that advice.

Yes,   for one he is to old for you. Also that he might try something that your not ready for. You should try to date in your age group ( not trying to sound like a mean person here I have two teenage daughter's of my own). You might feel more at comfort if you dated man who was between 16-18 years of age.

Yes he is too old for you. When you are 24 and he is 28 then it is okay .. but at 16 you are too young and he will be too mature with s*x and alcohol.

How about the law- it is illegal.  you don't drink. If you hang around someone who does you will be tempted, and he will entice you, and if you have s*x- it is not legal.  Not a good idea, my friend.
