If the rent is 700-800 pounds p.m., is 800-900 pounds enough for a single person to survive?

  1. Yes.

  2. 800-900 pounds would be enough for you to live well, and to afford clothing, food etc

  3. I would say definatly.

    I live on 500 a month so..

  4. What's normal?  You can survive quite comfortably on that, but how often you would want to eat out, go to the cinema etc is down to you.

  5. I did it on £1000 a month, spending £520 on rent. So it is possible but you have to budget properly.

  6. It is very little....you must consider travel which comes to over 20-38 pounds a week for a travel card...also bills for light, heat and food, VERY dear at the moment....you could do it but your life would be very simple...

  7. Yep - I used to live on about 1200 a month (only a couple of years ago), so as long as you are not into some really expensive hobbies, or enjoy the high life, you'll be fine!

you could get rent cheaper if you are prepared to share with other people, and also if you are prepared for a slightly longer commute...

  8. depends on the area (regarding council tax) it would be tight, but if you were frugal you could probably manage it.

Obviously there are variables like if you drive, drink, smoke etc. that would add to costs.
