I didnt study much in advance

i got

math - 650

reading - 450

writing - 570

essay - 8

do you think i can improve on these scores? I want to get around 700 in each subject, but i am not so good in the critical reading section. Any ways to help me improve?

and i was just wondering, what colleges do you think i could get accepted to with the score of 1670 (out of 2400)? I am not planning to go to college now, but i am just wondering.

thanks

  1. In 8th grade, my SAT score was a 2050, but I had studied religiously beforehand. Buy a reputable practice-test book, and do one every weekend. It seems tedious, but it really pays off. To improve your critical reading, read more, take practice tests, and work hard at English in school. I swear, by junior year, your vocab will have naturally expanded and your critical reading improved. Good job!

  2. You wouldnt get accepted in any except possibly a community college. Study more. Aim Higher. Achieve more.

Luckily you are only an 8th grader and have chances to improve. But study more and youll be fine!

  3. That's slightly better than average. While I wouldn't stress over it, you do have to get the reading up. (The average score per category is 500). For the colleges you could get into, some state schools definitely. These scores are not good enough for any top level schools. Don't worry though, you still have 3 years before the real thing, you'll do fine.
