I think that babysitting flyers are a younger teenager's thing to do, but I've seen many online "ads" for college age babysitters, I think the only difference is you know your neighbors better than random people reading your ad online. I have been babysitting about 7 years and alot of my famies' kids are getting too old to need a sitter, and I have also worked in a daycare for 5 yrs. I've been in my neigborhood for about 5 yrs, so I should have done this a while back. I feel like I'm too old, but then again it's just my neighbors, and more people are starting to look for a college student or older over a highschooler. Are there any parents or college students who can tell me what they would think of a 19 year putting out babysitting flyers for their neighbors ( I would only give them to those I know have young children).

  1. I'm 18, turning 19 next month, and I babysit.  And no, I don't think one can be too old to babysit.

  2. get a real job!

  3. you should go for it . because I am a parent and I rather want someone with lots of experience like you.

  4. Better you than some random old lady.

  5. As a mom, I don't normally like younger kids to be in care of my kids.  I need someone older and responsible.  So, 19 for me is not too old.  As long as you are not a party-hopping 19 who I can't trust inside my home.  If you are good at what you do and you have a real care and concern for the children you watch, then please continue baby-sitting...it is a service that is always needed by someone you can trust.

  6. ur not too old.  Go for it

  7. nope

I'd like to have a 19 year old watching my kids.

  8. no, its a great way to advertise. i'm sure parents would rather a 19 year old be looking after their kids than a 14 year old kid.

  9. i'd never hire a teenager to look after my kids. so no, 19 isn't too old.

  10. Flyers are a waste of paper. Do Craigslist...everybody knows about craigslist. So that would be a great way to put yourself out there and promote yourself.

  11. I'd be fine with it. A 19 year old is more mature and responsible which gives us more security. It does sound a little old to be a babysitter, but then again sometimes I hand off the kids to the 70 year old granny babysitter next door. So I'm thinking, 19 is fine.

  12. Not at all. I am always looking and I see flyers from stay at home mothers babysitting during the school and during the summertime. Think of it as a business, wouldn't you advertise if you were selling a product or providing a service?! Most parents prefer to send there child to someone they know. And BTW, you'll make good money doing childcare!

  13. I think it is a great idea!  You also may want to include other duties you can do (if you want) such as, errand running (if you drive), housecleaning, lawn mowing, etc. then you can reach more people and get more money!!!

  14. My aunt is well into her fifties, and she babysits for a living. does this answer your question?

  15. Im gonna guess that the older you are, the more comfortable the parents of the kid your babysitting is, so No, 19 isn't too old
