  1. Tri -hulls are very rough riding boats.

You will be much happier in the long run with a v-hull

  2. it makes a differance  the v hull is a smooth riding hull but rocks side to side at anchor  a tri hull is more stable and the ride might be wetter look at your hull if you see three edges its a tri one v itsa a v

  3. It makes a big difference on the performance and handling of the boat.  I spend much of my time on the Great Lakes and the Niagara River.  A trihull boat gets tossed around too much for the waters I navigate.  Could I use one, of course, but for the stability I want I need a V.  However, if I was in calmer waters, a tri hull would probably be better.

And yes it makes a huge difference

  4. Sea Ray 19' is a V-Hull....I don't think Sea Ray ever dabbled in building tri-hulls.

Either way, v-hulls will be better at "cutting" waves, handling a chop, etc but will roll more than the more laterally stable tri-hull.

For the "average joe" out looking for a boat to take out skiing, and general cruising out on an inland lake; don't worry about out it to much, go with a Vee

  5. The tri-hull is a very stable platform, but it *will* pound you to death in any kind of chop.  It basically gives you more deck space in the bow without sacrificing stability, at the cost of a smooth ride rough water.

That's not to say V-hulls are not stable.   Much smoother ride in rough water, and capable of more speed given the same weight and powerplant as a tri-hull.  And if it has a pad ("pad-v" or "performance hull") and enough power to hold it up there, it'll flat out move.
