Do you think he is old enough to understand the concept or is there a better method. I'm trying to get him to remember to do simple things like brush his teeth, "go" on the potty and pick up his toys. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  1. i think its the perfect time.  sticker charts have worked wonders for my son.  after trying other things -- it seems like the one thing that really works for us.   i make one chart for each task that i want done: getting dressed, going potty, being a good listener... then usually the reward has somewhat to do with the activity.  like when he filled up his getting dressed chart we bought a pair of light up shoes.  usually we work on only one thing at a time so he can really focus on mastering that task, but you could make one big chart and do multiple things.  good luck! i hope it works for you as well it did for us =)

  2. Have a list with pictures of a toilet a tooth brush and a toy and then have him put on a sticker when he does them all when does 10 give him a special prize.

  3. thats not to young. Its a good idea. Make it a somewhat big chart and use pictures to describe what needs to be done. Then have a space to put stickers when he does the things asked. Maybe even give him a little sticker for doing them if you dont have to tell him. Its great to start early. You are on the right track

  4. thats the perfect age to start. when kids are young like that they absorb information like little sponges. it also helps to motivate him!! my daughters 4 and we still use the sticker chart

  5. I think that it is a perfect time to start.  At 2 and a half a child is old enough to understand when they do something wrong and right.  This will be a good way of modeling that behavior.
