  1. 1 GB = 1024MB

    then 512MB = 0.5GB

    2GB is 2048MB

    2048(2GB) > 512MB (0.5 GB)

  2. 2Gb is 4 times larger than a 512Mb RAM. So It is very large.

  3. yes, of course. 2GB  is more than 512 MB

  4. buddy, any GB is Greater than any MB,

    8bits=1 BYTE

    1024 bytes= 1 kilobyte ( K.B)

    1024 KB= 1 Megabyte (M.B)

    1024 MB= 1 Gigabyte (GB)

    understood ?

  5. no  512 is the least amount,it takes 1015 MB to add up to 1 gigabyte so the 2gb has about 4 times amount of memory

  6. just like everyone said it is more then 512mb however if the laptop you are planning on acquiring is not dual core then there is no need on going so much on ram as your processor would work fine on 512mb unless the laptop has windows vista which requires 1 gb but my recommendation is 2 gb

  8. No, 2GB is great and sometimes the minimum recommended for Windows Vista <= memory hog.

    2GB is 4x times the memory of 512MB and normally Notebook PCs have only 2 memory slots...so say you bought 1GB memory, and it turns out manufacturer installed 2 x 512MB chips.  Then to upgrade later, you must discard existing original memory bec only 2 slots available and buy 2 x 1GB memory chips that must match Motherboard specs...

    Hope the Above Info Helps!
