My little one is two and a half months and is eating 8oz every two to three hours and still acts like shes hungry, a friend suggested giving her 1-2 teaspoons of pablum mixed with her formula to fill her up more. Is this ok?

  1. She really is a bit too young to be starting solids.  Her digestive system is very delicate and sensitive right now, and is only prepared for breast milk or formula.  Her little body knows what she needs.  If she is eating 8oz. that often it simply means thats what she needs right now.

Even at 6 months when solid food are recommended, it is more to teach the baby how to eat with a spoon than it is for nutrients.

  2. I started my son on that combo when he was 2 months and he was just fine.  I only gave it to him for breastfast and before bed.  Plus he slept all night.
