  1. Yes and also a good average as well. 20 wins for a pitcher is usually considered an ace.

  2. Not when some ppl are hitting 50 hr. I think 30+ would classify are a power hitter.

As far as pithcing, 20 wins is great but not many ppl get there.

  3. a player with 20 HRs should be recongnized as a starter

15+ wins are solid but 20+ is Ace like

  4. Homers no

    Wins yea

  5. I would say that 20 long balls is a bit above average.  Very solid stuff.  20 wins for a pitcher is definitely cy young material

  6. 20+ Home Runs means you're a solid hitter who has long ball power. It doesn't means you're a slugger. Also, you can't judge someone on one season. Guys who hit 20+ for 5 seasons are more of a slugger than someone who does it once. I'd say slugger status is 30+ now.

As for the 20+ wins. That means you're amazing. Pitchers aren't completing games, and pitchers who should have 20+ are getting 15-16 wins because of a poor bullpen, or because their coach didn't let them go 7 full innings. The mark for a solid pitcher is 15-16+ wins for 2-3 consecutive seasons.

  7. I think 20+ homers in no longer considered a slugger. It is more of a solid power bat.

20+ wins is an bonafide ace.

  8. i think a power hitter needs to be able to hit 30+ HRs to be considered a power hitter..thats 30 HRs over a full season. i mean, every team has at least one or 2 guys get that every season, and they are primarily the power hitters

i feel 20 is too low of a mark, and 30 seems like a good number

  9. 30+ wins is indication of a power hitter.  20+ wins is usually a sign of being a solid starter, but then you have years when a 20 game winner is not so, I believe that Bartolo Colon's Cy Young year was one of the worst ever Cy Young seasons, and he has done nothing since winning it.

  10. I say to be considered a true "power" hitter, you need to hit 30 per year consistantly. 20 wins is an All-Star pitcher.

  11. In the 70's and 80's perhaps, but surely not this day and age.

While for some it might be, for lack of size, player positioning ( you wont see many catchers posting such numbers).

  12. 20 homeruns in a season is not a 'benchmark' of a slugger/power hitter because of the steroid era. Its more like 30 homeruns.

20 Wins is an Ace. Seeing how relief pitchers take either the win/loss most of the time its hard to win 20. 15  wins I would consider a solid starter.

  13. 17.5 home runs is the average total for a 600 at bat person, I don't think 20 gives them anything other than slightly above average.

20 wins, is a very solid starter (if consistent)

  14. Not in this day and age when evereybody hits 30. Twenty homers now isn't squat.
