  1. Are you a competative swimmer?  If not that is a good time.  If you are the average 500 time is 5-8 minutes but if you keep working hard I'm sure that you can get it down

  2. Nope, that's about 38 seconds per length.

    ...Wait, do you consider a 'lap' as 2 legths or 50 meters? (20 laps = 500 meters ... 20 laps = 1000 meters?)

If so, it's pretty good for a rookie.

    If not... try hockey.

  3. My time is a 5:51.82 the slowest person in my zone is 10:20.64

    So to answer your question.....

    No.

  4. well 20 laps is a 500.

    and no not really...

the average time is about 5-8 min for competitive swimmers.

but if your not a competetive swimmer thats a good time :]

  5. That information is kind of vague. Maybe you could specify a little more about what you did.

Do you consider laps once across the pool? Or down AND back? Were you swimming in a 25 yard/meter pool? Or a 50 yard/meter pool?

  6. No, I'm a 13 year old female swimmer and I swim 20 laps in about 6 minutes, easy. Sorry but you might want to work on it.

  7. It's actually really slow.

  8. How far is the pool is it 25 yards, 25 meters or 50 meters? You could certainly work on your time. A 500 takes most competitive swimmers 4-8 minutes, but if you are just starting out that is probably alright, you will improve if you keep working on it.
