Question:

Is 20 years old too old to start becoming a pro tennis player?

I starting playing when I was young and had somewhat of a talent. I eventually played on and off for years after and then stopped completely for about 6 years until recently. I never acted on my dream to be a tennis pro, also shot down by someone very close that thought it was ridiculous. If I trained daily, do you think someone of 20 years of age would be able to be as good as the tennis players who are at their peak at this age?? Positive, negative, realistic, any opinions are appreciated and welcome.

cheers.

  1. yep its too late. your too old. but never give up :)

  2. Technically, yes but i believe in "Never say Never" so keep pursue your dream and push hard to success...

    GOOD LUCK!

  3. 20 years is still young for a tennis player, just do well then you'll see...

  4. 20?! You are still young, and you still have a dream.

I say act on it before it is too late.

And do not worry about age (not that you have to anyways, you are still so very young!), it is talent that matters.

Oh, and, whenever you go pro, I will be wanting a autograph.

    (: <3

  5. 20 is cutting it!

  6. It's a bit late, but look at Tamarine Tunesegarn....she's 31 years old!  If you start playing now, don't expect to be a pro until later on in your life.   You need to give yourself time to hone your game.  Good luck!  And there will always be somebody to remind of what CAN'T be done.

  7. i really don't like bursting peoples bubbles because i think anythings possible but i really think its a bit unrealistic..most pros start on the tour at 20 and i think its just a bit unrealistic...but hey, join some leagues! there are some amazing amazing tennis players throughout the us and uk so why not? work hard as if you were going to be pro and you will defiantly have success!
