Is the area around 200 South Wabash in The Loop a good place to open a fast food or sandwich shop? Are there many businesses in the area in which people are walking to go to lunch?

  1. You will have a lot of competition so it has to be something different and good food. It would be pretty cool to see a Sonic or something downtown.

  2. Oh yeah, that is a good place if you are looking to get the business people on thier lunches!

The CNA building is real close, as well as others

Most of the places in that area are basically open only for lunch, and it seems like they do good business

  3. Hi,

I would look at what restaurants that are near by and what your competition is because you are going to need something that is going to be competative and be able to handle the competition. You need to make sure you will be bringing in profits and that your food cost is not so high as to your competition. Look at what is around you, shop them out write down their prices for items that you want to carry and what everyone else in that vacinity is doing. I know that there is a wide range of diverse restaurants in Chicago and you need to give people a reason why they should eat at yours and why you are better!! Service is everything!!

Also, SIGNAGE is very inportant, I would invest in good signage to make your place stand out..be the center of attention!! Let them hear you and your business!!

One last thing, look at what used to be at the location that you wish to choose because some locations, prior to you have a bad rap within the community or there has been a turnover of business and that tends to be a turn off in the public's eye and it will stick with them even with a new business there.

Do lots of research!!!! Good luck too!
