Almost all of my niece's teeth are rotten, & I don't know how. My sister refuses to take the baby to the dentist or pediatrician. Will she have to wear silver caps?

  1. no. She needs to go.

  2. She needs to get on this ASAP! If she doesn't, call CPS. If it is obvious, she'll never know it was you.

Your teeth are a VITAL keey to good health, PLUS they are VERY close to your brain. An infection could affect her for the rest of her life.

Do your niece a favor and get this going.

My MIL didn't take care of my Hus' teeth. HE was a preemie and the meds they gave him weakened his teeth. Most of the baby teeth rotted and fell out before the adult teeth were in place. As a result, his teeth are in about a million different directions and he has always been embarrassed by it.

  3. My dentist told me to take my son as soon as his first tooth broke through.

Why won't she take them? Thats actually concidered child abuse through neglect as the children are being harmed through her neglect. Try sitting her down and talking about it.

  4. If your sister won't take the baby to the dentist or pediatrician, call Child Protection Services.  Rotten teeth can affect the child's overall health.  Perhaps they will hook her up with services that she can afford.

With occasional exceptions, most cases of rotted baby teeth are due either to formula or juice. Since most people use commercial formula, it's hard to avoid that as a problem (nearly all contain corn syrup) and she likely doesn't brush the baby's teeth to prevent that.

  5. uh thats neglect ..that childs rotton teeth will rot the incoming adult teeth before they pop through

  6. she might....take herto the dentist, as long as she has teeth she's old enough to go to the dentist

  7. They recommend the first dental check to be at 2yrs of age however after reading what you have said, I would take her asap. She's not far off being 2 anyway. Thats horrible that her teeth are rotten. She should also be having her teeth cleaned properly 2 times a day at this age with a toothbrush and water. You aren't really supposed to  use kiddie's tooth paste until they are 3. Most people do though.

  8. I hate the dentist - but I love my dentist!!! She reminds me of my mom! Anyhow - when I got pregnant I asked her how early can a child go to the dentist and she said - if she gets a tooth...bring her in! She was 6 months old and they showed me how to care for her teeth! My step-daughter had to get 13 caps on her teeth and my insurance (most insurance) will not cover baby teeth so it cost us $2,000!!! They were rotted out because her teeth were not being cared for - get her in to a doc ASAP!!!

  9. No.  Take her to the dentist.  Your sister should be brushing her teeth too.

  10. No, as long as the kid is walking and talking . Then he or she can start learning the importance of taking care of there body.Washing hands, taking baths ,brushing there hair, going to the dentist ,  and going to the doctor. The sooner the child can start .The healtheir the child would be.

  11. Oh Lord, if her teeth are rotten then she should be seen by a dentist.  She is probably getting milk and juice before going to bed and it is corroding her teeth.

These are her baby teeth and they will not cap them, but she is not learning good hygiene.  If your sister is too stupid to take the child to the doctor or dentist, then you should ask her if she wants you to, otherwise she should not be having children.

  12. The last time I took my kids to the dentist there was a woman there with her infant, he had to be between 6-9 months.  I really don't think it's an age limit.

  13. I JUST took my 3 yr old to the dentist and they said they like to see them as soon as they get their first tooth.
