I used to be an artistic gymnast. what you could call a late starter at 10 when i joined, but befroe long i was competing with the older girls. i gave up at 14 and have been regretting it for years.. i dont think you loose a talent if your born with it.. and i can still do alot, but being 23 is that too old to give it antoher go properly? i dont know much about adult classes either?

  1. No of course not.

I have my doubts whether you are past the age of competing, but as a hobby - you can do anything!

  2. No your never really too old  if you healthy and fit enough that is you don't want to have injuries

  3. Your Never To Old To Do Something You Want To Do . . . Cheesy Line But It's True . . .

  4. no

there is older people in the olympics

  5. Get your leotard on and go for it Girl. X

  6. Definitely not, especially if you've stayed active.  Your age timeline almost matches mine exactly.  I started figure skating at 9, had to stop at 13 for money and injury reasons and started again at 21.  I stayed active in that 8 year span and did tons of dance and I was actually better within a month of coming back to the sport than I was when I stopped.  If you really love it then you won't have a problem, but just be aware that you're body isn't used to it anymore and that will be the hardest readjustment - you should be fine with the actual moves if you did the sport for four consecutive years when you were younger.

As far as competitions, I don't know if gymnastics has an adult track the way figure skating does but for me I'm just happy to be training again.  If you can't find adult classes in your area talk to a coach and see if you can work out a special situation.  If you end up practicing with people younger than you don't worry about it - you could end up being a good example to the other students that age doesn't matter if you love what you do.
