Yesterday, was my first cross-country race. I am a sophmore who did soccer freshman year. Is 24 minutes a good time for my first 5k race ever? What is my mile time pace?

  1. 7:45 is your mile time for each mile of the whole 5K (3.1 miles), and considering that you are a sophomore, you should have run better, like under 20 min. but since it's your first 5K, I gotta give you some credit.

  2. That is a very good time.  Your mile pace was a little less than 8 minutes.

My first 5k was 24:03, but since then I have slowed done.  Good Job!

  3. For your first race, that is quite a time! if 0.7 mile is equal to 1k then you ran 3.5 miles at around... 7 minutes a mile.. pretty darn good!

  4. Thats good for a first 5k, my first ever was a 26 i got down to 20 now so just keep running and your time will go down. Thats a little less than 8 mins. a mile.

  5. I would say for your first race that is a good time.  The world record for the 5K is just under 15 minutes at 14 something.  Your mile average would be around 8 min/mile.

Ape Sith is totally wrong on the 12 min/mile.  He has no clue as to what he is talking about.

  6. That's not a good time at all.  You barely ran a 12 minute mile.

  7. thats not to bad i can go 19mins for 4k
