  1. That is very small, but it matters what you use your computer for. For example if you want to play the latest games you need 2-3 GB of ram but if your just using it for more simple things like word then you should be fine. Also you can't "make more ram" you have to buy it. Best buy has some and other stores that sell electronics.

  2. 512 Mb is recommended if you're using XP, 1 Gb for Vista and the other stylish graphic interfaced OS, and 8Gb if you're really crazy, and got 64bits configuration(CPU, OS ...).

Someone explained a theory about the fact that increasing your RAM do not necessarily mean perfs increase, you should google it, it may be helpful.

  3. 248 mb of ram is very, very low. A good computer will have at the very least 1GB ram to ensure sufficient working speed for running multiple programs, running games which demand alot of ram, to running programs which uses alot of your CPU power, such as photoshop. Pretty easy to upgrade ram, since you just have to go to any computer store and select 1GB ram slots, then open your computer and take out the old one, slip in the new bit. Different types of ram also, so take into mind that you should know what type of ram your current one is first before slipping in any types of ram you purchase.

  4. It isn't really good, You cant install some software and it's overall insufficient..I'd recommend getting a 750+ or just 1gb..

or buy a cheap vista laptop and you get 2GB ram+

    remember,

    More ram=More software and speed

  5. its basic almost borderline level these days

to add more ram  you need to figure out what kind  you have  because you have  256 mb i am guessing DDR

and buy a new ram module  ( 256 of 512 or 1 gig)

you open  the pc and  push the  module in to the free ramslot next to your current  256  mb module

  6. First, It depends for what you would need more RAM, for the latest software, and video games you need a good 1 GB, this is 1000 Mb (Rounding up) for essentials as word processing, internet email 248 mb RAM are OK. If you want to increase RAM, you have to find out what kind of memory your computer uses, also very important what would be the limit of RAM your motherboard will support.

To deal with these questions you can find out in the internet, making a search with the following information on hand:

Maker, and Model of your PC.

          I wish you luck,
