  1. the kit is 12 dollars but you also need to buy a heater

  2. i got that kit its only 13 dollars online it is great for betas beacause they dont need filters. but if its two beetas i suggest you get 2 which is about 26 dollars beacause somtimes females fight instead of being peaceful. female betas cant live in pairs only in 5s or 6s so they dont both have to fight for territory

  3. Love the tank, its super cute. I think if you are on a budget of $25 you should only get one betta. The tank you chose isn't enough room for 2, sorry. If you bought the tank, and 1 betta, I think it would be perfect. Hope you find some good answers!

  4. For starters, its not a good idea to keep female bettas in pairs as they'll develop a pecking order and one will consistantly harass the weaker one to assert its dominance.  More females means the aggression is spread out over more bodies and no one female will get harassed too much.  In order to successfully keep a soriety you will need more than 5 females and a 20 gallon, well planted tank with lots of hideouts.

The tank you pictured is barely good enough for one betta and you'll need to be doing water changes every other day to keep it healthy but this might stress the fish out more than nessacary.  Do yourself and your fish a favor by getting a 2gallon+, you can get them for under $25 and than you can decorate it how you want.  Also get a small submersible heater and these are also usually pretty cheap.  If you get a tank smaller than 5 gallons you can't really filter it as there's not enough water to maintain the consistant environment a filter needs to be effective so you'll still have to do 100% water changes but with a 2 gallon you'll only need to do this once a week.  Also, according to the IBC (International Betta Congress) a filter isn't a must have for bettas anyway since they get most of their air from the surface of the water.

  5. sorry but 2 bettas belong in a 10 gallon tank however you may possibly get away with 3 in a 10 gallon(2 is not enough to store a pecking order) but 2 bettas in one bowl is crazy an if you have to have the betta kit maybe you can get away with one small male betta but i still suggest in putting in him in the least of 3 gallons so to save money don't get anything because you may pay more than $20 for a 10 gallon tank

  6. whoa, female bettas can only go together if they are in a 10 gallon tank and there are 3 or more. You can only get one betta unless you get a 10 gallon tank. That "Betta kit" is to small for even 1 betta. 1 betta needs a minimum for 1 gallon. Try these kits for a betta- http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

If you want a happy pet, do not put him in something that small.

  7. No.  Bettas should be kept in at least a 2 gallon container (each), and they don't need all the decor.  It looks nice, but makes cleaning more difficult.

2 females shouldn't be kept together, but 4 or more will do fine in a larger tank, like 10 gallons.  A 10 gallon tank with heater won't cost much more.

  8. Whoa!

Also bettas NEED at least 2.5 gallons to be happy and active. If you get that bowl you will find all your betta will do is sit.

They also need a heater at about 79F and a gentle filter (makes it easier for you)

I know for a fact they have a 2.5 gallon tank at petsmart for $13. I just bought it last week. (Not a kit but a tank)

Just add some decorations, a filter and possibly a heater and your good to go.

The total cost would be around $25.

    No I am not kidding.

    Otherwise you could buy this:

(not the best but still much much better)

    Or

    Perfect :D

(just add a heater if you cant keep their water at at least a steady 75F)

Both of these are around $25 :)

    Good luck!
