I am thinking about taking a job there which pays about 255,000 SEK but cannot find out if this is good or not? How would i be living on this type of wage? Well, or on the bread line?

  1. I don't think you would be able to live in an expensive place on that wage.

The average wage for a white-collar job is 412800 SEK. To afford to buy a nice place to live in a good part of a larger town, you need two white-colar wages.

On 255000 SEK, you would probably rent a smaller place in the outskirts of town. It's what you would earn as a nurse's aid or a janitor.

    I hope that helps!

  2. Depends on where in Sweden you will be living as living expenses vary greatly. But that is a fair salary and you will make a decent living and will be able to go out and enjoy yourself every now and again if you'd like to.

To compare, if you are unemployed you would receive about 90,000 in benefits which would cover your rent, bills, food and everything else you need. So you are way over that amount

If you are going to Stockholm living expenses are drastically higher, but you'd still be alright

  3. Here's the current exchange rate: http://www.exchangerate.com/

    6.37 Kroner = $1:00 US.

I work for a company in Gothenberg, though I live in the US.

Be sure to find out exactly what your tax rate will be, then calculate for expanses.
