  1. I think yes, its too late. You have to begin from scratch.

  2.                                                                                                                              Of course not dude ! Good fortune.

  3. cardiac surgery......... I doubt you'd get the residency, by that time you'll be in your mid 30's, better if you aim for something like internal medicine or pediatrics.

  4. apply to med school and find out. it takes a lot of work since you are going to have to take the MCAT and take a whole bunch of classes required to get into med school if you havnt already done so. then the applying process is long. you should apply around june and you dont get to go to school until the next school year. so youll probably be 28 or a bit older before you get to med school, but once youre there, no its not too late, if its ok with you that youll be in your early 40s before youre practicing heart surgery on your own.

  5. It's never too late.

  6. Hi There

I worked with a brilliant cardiac surgeon her in Oz at Strathfield Private Hospital.

He started out working as an engineer for BHP Biliton and didn't start medical school until he was 30 with a wife and 4 kids!

His life experience and variety of knowledge made him one of the best, most compassionate, exceptional physicians I have ever met.

He has won some of the most prestigious awards in Australia, Including Australian of the year.

Seize the day. Whats the worst that can happen

  7. no its not late.

  8. It´s never too late! However a degree in business is not going to be a lot of help when applying to medical school.

  9. No, it is not too late.  Many people have a degree in one field and eventually wind up working in another.

  10. No, it's not.. you still have more than 60 years ahead of you and it takes only a fraction of that to become one.

You only have one life. Go for your dreams.

  11. DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO NAY-SAYERS!!! are you even kidding? you did the good deed by going to school and working hard and who is to tell you that you are too old to do something that you may be well qualified for? I want to be a vet and a physician. Can i do them both? I have no clue but I am going to make it happen. GO FOR IT.

  12. No Its not. Medicine takes 5 years then perhaps 10 years to become a consultant. So by about 40 you could potentially be a surgeon.

There are many mature students at my medical school. Including a 50 yr old who has recently started medicine.

So ya never to old. Just get cracking and good luck. If u have a bachelors in bus you may be able to apply for the graduate entry programme which takes 4 instead of 5 years.   GOOD LUCK
