I wanna play the guitar but some times I feel I'm too old now to learn how, my brother has been playing since he was like 13 years old and he plays in a band. Although he has been playing for at least 10 years and he is pretty good he is not a pro or nothing like that, so I'm thinking i'm I too old to star now? what do u think.

  1. I know someone who plays it and didn't start until they were in their 30's...So I'd say so, that "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" stuff is bull.

  2. I think no one is ever too old to learn something new.  Guitar is not a hard instrument, and whether you're great or not all depends on who you are and if you have a talent for it or not. Give it a try!

  4. i know a 54 year old who learnt last year, for his birthday he got a guitar! He's alright after a year and knows how to play a fair few chords and makes his own songs up!...i'm 17 and play on and off, once you get a few chords down and get the hang of a few strumming patterns the rest will follow.  it's like learning anything it'll take a while, but you'll eventually get there!

  5. you're never too old to play guitar.

If you just want to play for the enjoyment of playing- go for it. My mom never played the guitar in her life until she was 38. She's not fatastic, but she loves it and she's good at it.

So if the passion and love for it is there, why not?

  6. HI J.  No... I know it's not too old.   I have a friend who has played the flute for 20 years and only a few months ago began playing the guitar.  She is so crazy over it,  she has all but put down that flute.  She started taking lessons - religiously.. and practices religiously.. and is getting pretty dog gone good at it.   Buy the way.... she is 36.   So 26 is no too old... but you have to be committed to practicing to get any benefit from taking up guitar in the first place.    Everyone here thinks you can do it...   so it is totally up to you.    Good Luck.

  7. I'm 25 and just started playing a month ago.  It's hard to find time right now in my life but I can usually squeeze in 30 min of practice time a day.  I'm learning the basics for about 6 months and then I'd like to switch to blues guitar lessons by fall.  I really wish I would have picked it up at a younger age, but hey, that's life.  I'm just going to focus on improving slowly and see where it goes.  Make sure you can make the time and go for it.

  8. your never to old to learn how to play guitar dude! it might be a little harder because us younger kids have like more of a spongier brain...we can absorb more :] but if you wanna learn then get a guitar and start!!

  9. DO IT! **** age. do what will make you happy. who cares what anyone else says. as far as i know, there's no age limit! haha. even if it's just for the fun of it. it's always nice to have a hobby or who knows, you could become famous if you get really good!

  10. hey man if you wanna rock, then rock, your never to old to learn something new...its not about age its about the  determination, if you got that then your gold! (-:

PS-since when is 26 to old..your in your 20 man, that's like the best time to be liven!

  11. It's never too late
