  1. 28,988 is a pretty large student body, but it depends on what you're comparing it to.  In America, a "small school" tends to signify 0-5,000 students, a "medium school" is 5,000-10,000, and a "large school" is anything upwards from there.  Typically, private schools tend to have smaller populations and public/state schools are larger.

  2. Roughly 30,000 students is a large group!  Only some of the students at these schools, and perhaps the one you are analyzing, are undergraduate students, which means they are trying to earn a Bachelor's Degree.  The others at the school already have this 4-year degree, and are candidates for Master's Degrees or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degrees or other advanced degrees.

In the US, only one or two private schools (New York University comes to mind) are that large, though there are perhaps 100 public universities are (University of Michigan, Ohio State University are examples), and some even larger.  Of US public universities, many state colleges, and most two-year colleges have predominantly undergraduates.

If you are wondering about the social life at the school, you would be wise to learn how many of the 28,988 are undergraduates and how many are graduate students.  They typically lead very different lives.  Fraternities and sororities and sports teams, for example, mainly interest undergraduates.

  3. That is quite a bit.  The college I attended only had 4,000 students.

  4. Yes, that is considered a large school. There are very different sizes if you search for colleges online. Some have around 1,000. Some, like the other poster mentioned have 4,000. 10,000. Most public state universities have around 20,000. I believe University of Texas at Austin has something like 40,000..
