Is 2900 euros (after taxes) a good take-home salary in Eindhoven, Netherlands?

Life's requirements: Not so extravagant, a decent 2 bed apartment, maintain an ok car and other life's basic needs. Health insurance covered by employer.

  1. That's a very good salary. You can survive with it ;-)


  2. I do remember your previous question where you stated your yearly salary (and I asked if it was gross or net).  If this is a net figure then yes it is a good take-home salary.  You should be able to save some money per month from this if there are only two of you, and health insurance is paid

    As I mentioned before though, depending on where in Eindhoven you live, you may want to re-consider the car option (as well as having to take a test to change your licence to a Dutch one), car insurance, tax and gas (petrol) are very expensive, and getting more and more expensive, so this will be a major saving if you use bikes/public transport instead.  

    The public transport network in NL is really good, efficient and easy to use, plus a bike gets you out in the local area more and is very commonplace over here unlike what may be the case in your home country
