I can NOW SEE! I never realized how blind I was. I was told to wear them all the time. My left eye is so screwy it has affected my right eye. Is this about average, or what. i am amazed at how well I can see, and what i have been missing!

  1. Your left is is fairly nearsighted, so your right eye was giving you the best vision. Now with correction in the left eye, you will be seeing clearly out of both eyes and can certainly see the difference. You could probably wear the glasses only when you felt necessary, but I think you already appreciate the clarity it gives you.

  2. It's not as strong as you think, your vision was so restricted that it feels as if you were more impaired. I'd say mostly because of the difference between the left and right sides. You are near sighted though and you didn't say, but you may have astigmatism also. Thats the shape of your eyeball.

  3. It's bad if you only just got your glasses! Starting off so high is scary, coz you've been going all round as blind as a bat! But if you think about others that have -8 or something (I know people who do), then that's relatively good, and can improve easily :D But from experience, it will deteriorate slightly for the first few years.

  4. The -2.00 left eye prescription is in the middle range of a mild prescription for nearsightedness which is -1 to -3 diopters.  Your right eye is a very mild prescription.  If both of your eyes were at -.25 then you probably would not need to correct it.

I have a similar prescription difference between my eyes as well.  My right eye has no correction and my left eye is plano -1.50 axis 50.  The things I noticed when I started correcting it was the difference in my depth perception and binocular vision.  I could distance objects fine with my right eye, but my left eye would struggle with it and gave me headaches sometimes.  I do not wear my glasses at all times.  I usually wear a contact lens in my left eye when I am outside and my glasses at home when needed for distance such as watching TV.

  5. That is a stronger eyeglass prescription and that will help your eyesight greatly!!
