  1. Three nights is very short for a city like Paris, but that should leave you enough time to see the best-known monuments (Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica + Montmartre, the Champs-Elysées, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, etc), as well as taking a boat ride on the Seine and perhaps a day trip to Versailles to see the Château. Yes, of course the TGV is safe. Don't let the much-hyped speed records fool you: 300+ mph is obviously not a typical cruising speed, so much as a display of the train's power when pushed to the limit. http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvT...

  2. 3 days is no where near enough time for a city like Paris.  There are hundreds of things to see and do - My husband and I spent 2 weeks in the city last year, and while we left satisfied that we had seen pretty much everything that we wanted to, we could have spent more time.... AND we never left the city (except to go to Versailles for a day).  We spent 2 days in the Louvre alone.... and we could have spent 2 more.

Catch the highlights... but if you can spend more time, do so.

  3. Remember it was the "youths" (Muslims) who rioted at the train stations, so be careful.

  4. Your question is a bit confusing.

I am going to assume that you have ten days total for your trip. With a day to travel to travel between Paris and Zurich that would leave a total of 9 days for sightseeing. If this is true then you propose to divide your trip with 3 days in Paris and 6 days in Zurich.

Unless you have some special connection to Zurich such as family or friends this is, in my opinion, the wrong way to divide your time. Zurich is a pleasant enough city but cannot compare to Paris. For a tourist, Zurich is worth no more than a day or two. Paris, on the other hand, is so rich in places a tourist would find interesting that a week is scarcely enough to even scratch the surface.

It is perfectly safe to travel by train between Paris and Zurich. However, if you want to traverse the Mont Blanc tunnel you'll need to take a car. and, in any case, that tunnel connects France and Italy, not Switzerland.

  5. Euro train is the only way to go cost wise...I found it very safe. As for Hotels in Paris, there are some inexpensive ones on the street Rue de Rivioli...just check the web and you can view $$ and pictures..have a good time!

  6. The Eurostar is a great way to travel throughout Europe. It's the nicest, cleanest, and safest train, and in general a great means of travel. You will love it. The service is also great. I hope you have a wonderful stay in Paris, makesure to visit the Louvre museum and also the famous perfume shop, i think it's called Luxemberg? ( I can't remember). Three days should be enough time. Try to go see a cabaret show as well. It's a unique experience. Moulin Rouge, Lido, and Para di Latis are great shows. Oh, and Zurich is a beautiful city, with an amazing lake and scenery. It's probably one of the richest cities and most expensive to live in. We stayed at a Novotel in Paris. It was a very nice hotel and relatively inexpensive. http://www.novotel.com/gb/reservation/li...
