  1. It's never too old to travel. You don't want to be really old and never have gone anywhere. I know National Geographic just came out with a travel issue check that out. And it would help to hire a travel agent, but you could always look in a travel magazine at your local convenience store/CVS/Walgreens.

  2. Its not to old. Plus if u traveled three times then u have traveled. Just take a vaction with ur friends or family!!

  3. Well, when I was 33 I hadn't done any more traveling then you except with my mother, father and brother or the time I went to Europe with a college group that was all pre-arranged, so I didn't have to make any decisions. I flew to Peru by myself, not even being able to speak Spanish. It was an awsome experience! There were a few times when I was scared, but I trusted my intuition and learned so much.

Before you go, do lots of research on the country you are planning to travel to. You will need to be able to make an up to date estimate of the cost of hotel rooms, meals, tours etc. so you can make a budget. Don't go on a package tour with a North American company to a foreign country, they will just charge you 100 times more. When you get to a destination that is a tourist attraction, there will be a lot of local travel agents competing to book your activities for you, and you can get good deals.

Find out everything you can about currency and the best way to deal with currency exchange in your destination before you go. There is lots of good information on the internet.

Be careful not to get robbed. Always carry your valuables like extra traveler's cheques in a money belt under your clothes, not in your purse or bag. Don't wear stuff like diamonds or a leather jacket that says "please rob me". Use a shoulder bag with a strap that goes across your body, but don't carry a backpack on your chest like a baby, that just makes tourists look distrustful and stand out like a sore thumb .

At least four months before you go, you should make sure your passport is up to date and apply for a new one if you need it, and also go to your local clinic. Tell them were you are traveling to and they will tell you if you need any shots before you go.

Whatever you do, do not take Larium (an anti-malaria drug). I took it when I went to Belize and was sick because of it for two years. If you are traveling to a malaria zone, your doctor can prescribe antibiotics.

While you are traveling, be friendly with the locals and they will help you. Usually you will find people who speak at least a bit of English, but try to learn a few phrases of the language. They appreciate the effort.

If you are traveling by yourself, plan to wake up early in the mornings and don't be out late at night after dark, at least until you know the area better and what streets are safe.

Learn as much as you can about the country and it's people, and be open to new adventures. You will have memories that last forever.

  4. no its not 2 old.matter afact itz never 2 late travel.but sum people just lke 2 do as early as possible

  5. hello pretty face.

when i travel, first i google the destination.  london, for example.  i look to travelocity.com for airfare.  i personally use taxi's rather then car rental.

for ukraine i booked apartments, hired drivers etc all with online research.

for my favorite destination isla mujeres mexico i book through vacationexpress.com where i can fly out of memphis, nashville or new orleans. very pleased with their services and packages.

    good luck pretty face.

my inn in clarksdale ms is bigpinkguesthouse.com

i'm in natchez ms now opening shantybellum guest house.

i hope this has given you a starting point.  let me know if you have more questions.

  6. Your never too old to travel! I would say you should defintely get a travel agent. They have experience and I'm sure they could help you to the best of their ability. Im sure you could travel anywhere.. Have fun!! :)

  7. JUST GO!!!  There's not much else to it.

If ya have $, then theres no problem goin almost anywhere!

I've been to Europe, Africa, and all over the US.

The more ya travel, the easier it will be.  I personally, get anxious in traveling.  I'm a kind of worst case scenario kinda guy.  I like to be prepared.  But things have never been so bad as, i couldnt get home.

For short trips: (driving less then 2-3hrs, and not staying over night) Make sure ya have enough gas, and $ for food, then JUST GO!

For medium length trips:  (Driving 3-10hrs, or taking a flight and staying over night to 3 days)  Having an event or something to do planned at your destination.  Have a place to stay.  Bring a toiletry bag, filled with all the stuff to make you feel fresh, clean and comfortable (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deoderant, washcloth, towel). Pack clothes for twice as long.  And MONEY, enough for $20 for food every day, a Credit Card, and enough money to get home in case something goes wrong.

Long term trip: (4 days - 1month) everything in medium term, (clothes just bring about a 1 1/2weeks worth, BUT make sure theres facilities to wash clothes!!) PLUS extra shoes, MAPS of the trip and the area visiting, mutli-tool/ knife, Book, and ipod/walkman, 2x as many of something thats important to your comfort (Cold weather jacket, gloves, sunglasses, etc..)

In ALL cases, bring a cell phone, and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, let someone know where your going, how you can be reached, when you are leaving, when you arrive, when you are coming back.

BUT if ya have enough money.  You can just GO! and buy everything when ya get there.

Oh and internationally its nice to have a guide...

  8. It  does not matter how old you are the question is do you want to go somewhere.  ??? O.K, then go...It does not matter how you go fly, train, plane boat or piggy back, what ever you want to do...you can walk across the continent if you want to.  If you feel the need to hire a travel agent...then do so for the first time, then you may know more about what you want for the next trip.  Not all folks need or want the same type of trip...some want a slow paced, easy going, trip down the river in a canoe...others may want the ritz hotels and in the middle of the big cities.  Some may be afraid to fly, so the travel agent for those would be the best to steer them towards what is best for them.  I would suggest going on the computer and looking up the places that interest them the most...then go from there...find maps, and places to stay,etc...it may be fun.  go for it, you are never too old

  9. YES...thats far too old...i reccomend you walk to canada immediately.

  10. THAT'S NOT TO OLD.

  11. If traveling is not important to you... then 75 is not too old.

If you want to travel then  5 isn't too young.
